Six Word Memoirs

One of the activities the American International Section did this year was linked to our unit on memoirs. In order to understand what a memoir is in the English-speaking world, we explored memoirs in six words. The concept of trying to tell a story using the absolute minimum of words is called flash fiction. We were inspired by a six-word memoir often attributed to Ernest Hemingway (although it is highly unlikely he actually wrote the text):

“For sale: baby shoes, never worn.”

Our attempts at the genre were much more lighthearted and reflect the different experiences of International Section students over the course of their lives. We hope you enjoy them!

What memory would you choose to write a six-word memoir about?
